Medical Services

A specialized Medical Provider is available to conduct a medical exam for your child or consult with you about any questions or concerns.

To decrease trauma as much as possible, we provide medical examinations and evaluation of sexual assault victims at the Alcona Health Center Pediatrics, in a child-oriented environment. Through our collaboration with Alcona Health Center, a team of trained medical professionals that are knowledgeable in how to interact with assault victims conduct these exams.

The main goals of medicals exams are to:

• Address health care needs of children who disclose sexual abuse or for whom sexual abuse is suspected

• Promote healing

• Gather forensic evidence for potential use within the criminal justice and/or child protection services
