The Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeast Michigan

Originally created through the generosity of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and a collaborative effort of 25+ area agencies, the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeast Michigan (CAC-NEMI) now operates under the umbrella of Alcona Citizens for Health, Inc. Our service area includes the counties of Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency and Presque Isle.

Our Mission

The mission of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeast Michigan is to protect children. We provide a sensitive, safe, and supportive environment to children that have experienced sexual abuse, neglect, and physical abuse. We provide a multi-disciplinary approach to the investigation, assessment, and treatment of child abuse.

What is a Children’s Advocacy Center?

Children’s Advocacy Centers (CACs) are community based, child focused and child-friendly facilities where representatives from many disciplines meet to discuss and make decisions about investigation, treatment and prosecution of child abuse cases.
